Retirement: A Blessing or a Curse?
For me, retirement is a blessing. Although I officially retired in 2002, I continued a hectic schedule involving myself with many projects and connecting with many people. Only recently have I chosen to slow down. I now use most of my extra ‘retirement’ quality time to discover and accept my true being.
This entails many memories of and reflections of my past 63 years. There are a variety of reasons I feel the need to examine my past life-long learning experiences, which are too numerous to address at this time.
I need to connect the dots of my emotions and actions/reactions to specific past events in my life because I know I’m not the person I was. Although I have always been cognizant that I have gone through changes during my life, I never felt the need to analyze them in order to live, daily, in the present.
August of this year, 2011, I had to face the fact that my perception of “ME” was very WRONG! That experience will be the first story in my blog!
